Field Engineer Trainee

We are seeking for a motivated, organized, and methodical Field Engineer Trainee to join our SLB team.

The Field Engineer Trainee is responsible for maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable PSD to Customers. The Field Engineer Trainee identifies opportunities to improve service delivery, implements standard work, and manage, risk during service delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure job deliverables are accurate and delivered on time.
  • Execute service delivery to the customer.
  • Participate in job risk analysis and continual improvement programs.
  • Assist the Design/Technical Engineer with implementing technical programs and bids.
  • Develop customer contacts to promote company products and services.
  • Ensure company and regulatory standard compliance by implementing the Compliance Assessment Tool (CAT), self-assessments, and wellsite inspections.
  • Lead Service Quality Meetings with customers and improve performance using action plans.
  • Participate in HSE and Quality initiatives.
  • Wear PPE and observe HSE policies.
  • Maintain the required safety training.
  • Provide backup to the Job Delivery Lead and PSD Managers in their absence.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must be of Ugandan Nationality.
  • Willing to travel to offshore/onshore locations for work.
  • Must have minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

  • Must be a team player, able to get along with individuals from other groups in the organization, and a good communicator.

Field Specialist Trainee

We are currently looking for recent graduates to join our team as Field Specialist Trainee.

The Field Specialist Trainee receives intensive training in troubleshooting, technical procedures, safety, and client interaction. Responsibilities and skill development vary widely according to business line but consist of both formal technical training courses and hands-on experience. Progression is structured through a formal career development program.

Responsibilities:

  • Acquire familiarity, to the level required to perform duties, with assigned business line’s range of services and products and their relationship to those of other business lines
  • Achieve functional and technical skills required for assignments
  • Assist in planning, preparation, and executing jobs to design according to client specifications with a goal of 100% service delivery

Requirements:

  • Candidates must be of Ugandan Nationality.
  • Must have minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.

Maintenance Mechanical and Electrical/Electronics Technician Trainees

SLB is currently looking for Maintenance Mechanical and Electrical/Electronics Technician Trainees – Recent Graduates to join our team.

It is to support our teams in the field ensuring the tools and services at the wellsite can perform in ever more complex, extreme environments.

The Maintenance Trainee responsible for following the trainee technical package to be able to minimize the mechanical and electrical failures in equipment, that may result in either lost time or poor-quality data by ensuring that their assigned equipment is maintained as per Product Line Standards and according to the latest specifications.

The person performs preventive maintenance and modifications under technical supervision according to defined schedules and aware of the potential risks associated with such maintenance and works in a safe, orderly and efficient manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all assigned equipment is continually maintained at the highest standards, resulting in proper functionality and minimum failures.
  • Responsible to improve asset availability by reducing the asset turnaround time through reduction of asset waiting for maintenance, Down for Parts/ Return Authorization Number, Down for Failure and Work-in-Process.
  • Execute Maintenance Strategy, compliant to Reliability Centered Maintenance strategy
  • Comply to Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) standards
  • Responsible to support Continuous Improvement culture, initiatives and execute remedial work plan within location
  • Responsible to implement reliability practices
  • Utilize maintenance business systems to reach full cost, time and equipment traceability for maintenance performance (movements, work orders, parts used and time to maintain).
  • Comply with all Schlumberger and Product Line’s Service Quality, HSE and IT standards and policies
  • Follows fixed-step training program and ensures training is on schedule and accurately recorded

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be of Ugandan Nationality.
  • 2-3 years Technical Diploma Certificate in Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or equivalent diploma.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Solid hands on electronics and mechanical background essential coupled with strong analytical skills.
  • Strong Math and Physics results.
  • Able to follow directions and company policies and Service Quality and Performance focussed.
