Procurement Officer(Mildmay Hospital Uganda)
Job Summary:
The position holder will coordinate the procurement and disposal function of Mildmay Hospital Uganda and provide technical assistance to the Hospital Heads of Sections and any duly appointed Procurement Committee(s) on procurement and disposal matters.
Key Result Areas:
- Ensure timely procurement and delivery of goods & services required by the Hospital and its stakeholders.
- Conduct prequalification exercises of suppliers, service providers, and contractors to maintain an up-to-date database of capable and legitimate suppliers.
- Oversee the process of receiving all invoices from suppliers, ensuring proper record-keeping, and verifying that all delivered items are as per the Local Purchase Order (LPO).
- Assist in the management of contracts and the disposal process of Mildmay Uganda assets, as may be required from time to time.
Qualification & Experience:
- A Diploma in Pharmacy, Clinical Medicine, or Nursing with qualifications in Procurement and Supply Chain Management.
- Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, preferably in a Hospital setting or a large organization, preferably donor-funded.
- The candidate must be results-driven, with a commitment to high ethical standards, and possess demonstrable knowledge of Procurement Planning, Budgeting, and Contract Management.
- Membership of CIPS and full knowledge of accounting packages, preferably Navision, is an added advantage.
Driver (Mildmay Hospital Uganda)
Job Summary:
Ensure safe and timely transport for Mildmay Uganda staff, clients, and designated equipment/items.
Key Result Areas:
- Routine vehicle maintenance.
- Ambulance management.
- Route planning and expert navigation.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.
- Accurate documentation of transport activities.
- Excellent communication skills.
Qualification & Experience:
- Uganda Certificate of Education (O-Level), plus a Certificate in Defensive Driving.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with an excellent driving record in organizational vehicle management, preferably in a hospital or similar work environment.
- The candidate must have a valid Driving Permit with relevant vehicle classes.
- Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations, as well as demonstrable understanding of motor vehicle operations and basic mechanics.
Janitor/Cleaner
Job Summary:
Maintain a clean and hygienic environment for Mildmay Uganda staff, clients, and visitors.
Key Result Areas:
- Ensure cleanliness of designated areas.
- Ensure Health & Safety, quality, and general procedure compliance.
- Work as part of a team to ensure the cleaning rota operates smoothly, meeting standards and institutional objectives.
Qualification & Experience:
- O-Level Certificate (UCE).
- Minimum of 1 year working experience in cleaning/domestic services in a busy work environment (preferably in a formal organizational setting).
- A Certificate in housekeeping or hospitality is an added advantage.
Research Development Officer(Mildmay Research Center Uganda)
Job Summary:
The position holder will play a crucial role in identifying, developing, and securing research funding opportunities for MRCU. This position requires a strong understanding of research principles, excellent communication skills, and a passion for driving innovation.
Key Result Areas:
- Identify and pursue potential funding sources.
- Develop compelling research proposals.
- Manage grant applications and reporting.
- Build relationships with funders and partners.
- Analyze grant application data.
Qualification & Experience:
- MBChB; BSN, B. Stat, or equivalent degree in a relevant field.
- MPH, MSc. Epidemiology, MMed, or MSc in a relevant field.
- Proven experience in research development and grant writing.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong understanding of research principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency in using relevant software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, grant management databases).
