Job Overview:

The Construction Manager is responsible for the following: To lead a business enabling function that is recognized as best in class that is predictive rather than reactionary in its delivery and deployment of construction methodology. Shall apply functional and technical knowledge and skills to perform at a high level in role understanding the market. Demonstrates understanding of market, national content requirements, and keeps current on stakeholder’s strategic objectives and business challenges as well as on the external market.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Lead disciplined execution in a Greenfield Project environment in line with PMT expectations on, HSE, Quality, Technical requirements and Execution performance.
  • Provide professional leadership and governance for site works (Offshore/ Onshore) specifically related to McDermott (MDR) commitments, including the management of sub-contractor and  third party activities relating to site implementation, pre-commissioning and completions activities.
  • Direct and co-ordinate all specific implementation works, planning and labour requirements in line with schedule, and liaise with PMT with regard to budget and change management.
  • Manage and co-ordinate all Sub-Contractor implementation activities to ensure milestones and KPI’s are delivered against business expectations.
  • Interface with Operations, Pre-commissioning, Design, Engineering and Quality groups to obtain full scope understanding to optimum delivery success.
  • Lead constructability reviews / process with a focus on design optimisation to minimise execution man-hours whilst monitoring input from HUC team.
  • Accountable for the implementation oversight of all field activities aligned to industry/Client best practices, National Content and training of local workforce.
  • Manage the timely delivery of documentation, fabrication, materials, personnel and vendors aligned to execution schedule and escalate to PMT if you witness deliverable slippage.
  • Accountable for mentorship of local hires to ensure knowledge transfer of skills and company practices/procedures.
  • As part of PMT manage execution budgets against class 4 estimates and look for opportunities to improve project / business return (GP).

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Minimum of 10 years site experience on large scale Oil & Gas Projects in excess of $1bn
  • Piping/E&I construction experience
  • Experience in managing multiple subcontractors and a multi-cultural workforce, with a total workforce of more than 3,000 people.
  • Ability to read and interpret Construction Drawings and specifications
  • Experience in transitioning large scale Oil & Gas Projects from Construction Mechanical Completions phase through Commissioning and handover.
  • Experience Leading Health, Safety and Environmental campaigns at project sites and ensuring compliance to required project and regulatory requirements. Monitor and maintain records of compliance.
  • Be able to work with a multinational workforce and ensure mentoring/training and knowledge transfer to in-country nationals.
