Coca-Cola Beverages Africa /CCBA is the largest African Coca-Cola bottler, accounting for 40% of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent. Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda /CCBU is a subsidiary of CCBA, and we are currently seeking to recruit a Commercial Excellence Director based in Kampala.
As Commercial Excellence Director, you will report directly to the Country General Manager
Key Purpose Statement
The overall role of a Commercial Excellence Director is to drive the development and implementation of strategies and initiatives aimed at
optimizing commercial performance and enhancing overall business efficiency.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Building holistic Commercial Excellence capability and insights to inform “where to play & how to win” commercial choices and measure their impact & success.
• Co-development of country commercial strategy, informing it with insights, and ensuring consumer/shopper/customer remain the cornerstone of it
• Development of integrated portfolio strategy, enabling optimal choices for sustainable topline and margins growth, efficient DME allocations, identification and working on category profitability improvement.
• Development and operationalization of RGM strategy and prioritized initiatives.
• Co-development of country marketing plans. operational delivery of commercialization and customer marketing initiatives within these plans, including trade programs and in-store materials for best-in-class execution (equipment, POP, special projects etc.)
• Channel strategy development, supported by efficient Commercial Policy, and aligned with sales teams
• Country DME budget management
• Trade investment optimization, incl optimal promo strategy and ROI improvement. Incorporating market insights monetizing data and capturing relevant SOP. Coordinating end-to-end promo management process and promo accreditation.
• Team capability development, retention, acceleration.
• Support of customer team members in the areas of bespoke shopper programs, promo management and category management
Skills, Experience & Education
Qualifications
• Minimum requirement: Bachelors in a Marketing and Business-related course.
• Added advantage: An MBA is an added advantage.
Experience
• Both Marketing / Trade marketing and Commercial excellence / RGM experience (7+)
• Track record of strategy design and delivery, annual marketing calendars planning and deployment
• Track record of new product launches (excl product
• development) and national consumer promos / platforms in-store execution
Competencies
• Full understanding and co development of country commercial strategy, cross-functional implications, and interdependencies
• Full understanding of country topline and margins performance drivers
• Strong understanding of commercial finance
• Strong project management skills & Customer Focus
• Strong understanding of category / product P&L, different financial models, and relevant product P&L performance drivers
• Stakeholders’ management and alignment
• Exceptional business acumen and learning agility
